Modded's basement from HELL  Mike's Desk

no leaks in a water cooled system no leaks on the water block fittings

  Updates: 01/16/2008

My ASUS A7V333 has refused to boot.  The clock has been loosing time for over six months now, so I'm sure it's the battery. XP was keeping it up to date and I got lazy and did not pursue this.   Yep it was the battery

I used this as an excuse to get another MB, an ASUS A7N8X with SATA and Dual LAN.  I've installed a WD SATA Drive which is 10,000 RPM of screaming hard-drive. About 5.2ms seek time.  1/2 that of a 133/7,500 RPM drive.  See my SATA page for help installing this screamer since your BIOS really does not recognize this as a attached drive

Rod has a good article and benchmarks on 3D. you will have to log on or join.  it's the best forum on the net.

Today we are water cooled and  over-clocked.

My over clocked temperature is 85˚ F.

During Quake it's 95 F. this is an overall drop of about 20˚ to 30˚

The case is a modded Kingwin with 3 windows. An aluminum case is good for 20˚.

Parts list for the Water Cooled:

I've added an Innovatek tank to my pump.  it had a little 8mm fitting on it which is too small for my 3/8" heavy wall Tygon tubing.

° 10mm Pump Fittings new tank

The case fans are tri-lighted, clear fans   The case is from directron.com

It came with three windows, 4 fans, but no power supply. I think a person should choose for their own needs anyway.   The motherboard slides out on a tray. Both sides come off, the front has a clear Lucite cover over the metal. I've added a custom switch bay for a cold cathode lights and extra fans.  See the "how to" at Gruntville.com
