Does it fit in a floppy bay cover? |
|
| Evil & Corrupted
minds plan the deed
Most floppy covers measure 1" x 4"
|
 |
| A sub-mini micro switch
from Radio Shack |
 |
| A small green LED
already setup for 12 volt applications.
No bezel required, it just bolts in, and it looks
clean. |

| Floppy Bay Drilled
Here is a
template
make sure your image program states it's
size as 480 x 120. |
 |
| That 1/2 drill
press was a good investment. |
 |
| Soldering
stereo wire onto the switches. |
 |
| Some of the
tools used are strippers, small needle nose pliers, soldering iron,
'third-hand', a small jewelers vise. |
 |
| The bay is
packed so tight, the LED's have to go in first |
 |
| Switches are
bolted in like normal, but are locked in place with some super glue gel. |
 |
| This is wired directly
to the 12 volt supply (red & black wires), not to the existing switch found on most lighting
systems. |
this switch and it's wires get cut off,
then wired shut with a small butt connecter or twist and heat shrink. |
| It's a good
looking mod. |
